Butte High Bulldogs
Sometimes growth doesn’t scream at you all at once.
Sometimes it rattles the rim.
Ask anyone in the Civic Center Friday night and they’ll tell you the same thing: Brady Hanson is coming. And he’s coming fast.
The sophomore big man helped power the Butte High Bulldogs to their fifth straight win, finishing with 13 points, knocking down a big three-ball, and throwing down four thunderous dunks that turned momentum into mayhem.
And then there was that one.
Fast break.
Hudson Luedtke pushing.
Glass.
Hanson went up, met the ball in mid-air, and hammered home a lob off the backboard that brought the building to its feet. The loudest of his four jams. The kind of play that doesn’t just show athleticism, it shows trust, chemistry, and confidence.
That confidence is the story.
After the departure of Braylon Larson, Hanson was thrust into a bigger role — and he hasn’t just answered the call, he’s absolutely flourished.
Brady Hanson has grown tremendously this season. His footwork is cleaner. His timing is better. His presence around the rim changes how teams attack. And now he’s stretching the floor, calmly stepping into a three when the defense dares him.
But his impact goes beyond the box score.
He runs the floor.
He finishes through contact.
He protects the paint.
He plays with energy every possession.
For a sophomore, that matters. For a team chasing something bigger, it matters even more.
Each game, Hanson looks more comfortable. Each game, his confidence grows. Each game, he finds another way to impact winning. And at just a sophomore, the ceiling is still way up there.
Five straight wins.
Four dunks.
One rising Bulldog.
That’s why Brady Hanson is your Butte Sports Athlete of the Week.
