It’s not every day you see an 8th grader on a varsity lineup, let alone one who sees the floor that early on have any real impact, shoot maybe they were short numbers at tryouts and that’s how she got there right? Wrong…… meet Cadence Graham, the Butte 8th grader that is doing big things for the Lady Bulldog basketball program, proving age and size are just writing on the paper and what truly measures an athlete is their heart and determination to be the best they can be and give it all they can with any opportunity presented to them.

Cadence may be small but man has she knocked down some huge shots this season, the most recent coming last week against Helena High, with time winding down senior Emmarie Richards found Graham open on the right wing for three, with all the confidence in the world Cadence pulled the trigger without hesitation and knocked down a dagger with 3.5 seconds to go and would send the Bulldogs to a 51-50 win over the Bengals. Cadence finished the game with 11 points and her performance earned her Butte Sports Athlete of the Week, great job Cadence we can’t wait to see where this game takes you!
