This week the Butte Sports Athlete of the Week is Bulldog QB Bo Demarais. Bo earned his first starting notch as a Varsity quarterback in their season opener in Billings. Demarais and the Bulldogs had a rough start, 4 turnovers in the first half to be exact. The defense kept them in it and the heart of the team never died as the Bulldogs pushed and prevailed in a wild season opening win over the Billings West Golden Bears.
Bo handled his rough start admirably, and kept the next play mentality all game and never let the turnovers rattle him. In fact he led the Bulldogs to 21 straight 4th quarter points, which started with a 3 yard rush to pay dirt and a strike to Sam Sampson for a 48 yard touchdown, the Bulldogs were backed by their stellar defense and rushing attack in goal line territory, Will Stepan sealed the deal with a pick at the goal line to win 21-17 over the Bears.
Butte High will host the Bozeman Hawks in their home opener at Naranchie Stadium this Friday night at 7pm.
