Argos top Orediggers for Frontier crown

GREAT FALLS — Montana Tech’s six-match winning streak came to an end Saturday night with a three-set loss to the University of Providence in the Frontier Conference tournament championship game at the McLaughlin Center.

Jensyn Turner tallied 15 kills, and Kelsey Shaver added 11 as the No. 19 Argos beat the No. 17 Orediggers 33-31, 25-22, 25-13. (Stats)

Cydney Finberg-Roberts registered 47 assists to run the Argo attack.

Gena McMillan’s 11 kills led the Orediggers. Marueen Jessopp and Karina Mickelson each added eight, while Heather Thompson and Sydney Parks spiked six apiece.

McKenna Kaelber served up 35 assists, and Sabrina Hopcroft collected 15 digs.

The regular-season champion Orediggers (25-7) are still hopeful of receiving a bid to the NAIA national tournament.
