Argos squeak past Oredigger men

GREAT FALLS — Montana Tech held Marcel Towns in check Saturday night in a Frontier Conference men’s basketball game against the University of Great Falls.

The Orediggers held the reigning NAIA National Player of the Week to just nine points. The Argonauts, though, got 12 points from Naren Maynard and 14 from James Holmes as Great Falls held off Montana Tech for a 62-58 win.

Miquel Bocachica added 11 points for Great Falls in the win.

Adam Greger scored 21 points to lead the Orediggers, who fell to 11-10 overall and 2-5 in Frontier play. Bryan Bock scored 16 points in the loss.

Tech also got eight points from Daniel Simon and six from Travis Peevey.

Great Falls improved to 14-7 and 5-2.

The Orediggers get another shot at the Argonauts Friday in Butte.
