GREAT FALLS — Montana Tech’s volleyball team got off to a great start Friday night at the McLaughlin Center.
The University of Providence, however, made sure that success was short lived. The Argos took down the Orediggers in four sets, overcoming a 25-17 loss to win the next three 25-23, 25-17 and 25-20. (Stats)
Providence improved to 3-2, while the Orediggers dropped to 2-3. That includes an 0-3 record on the road.
Sadie Lott spiked 19 kills and collected 16 digs to lead Providence in the opener of the two-game weekend set. Adysen Burns added 12 kills and 20 digs, and Jensyn Turner spiked 10 kills. Sacha Legros tallied a team-high 21 digs, and Cydney Finberg-Roberts, the winner of the first two Frontier Conference Setter of the Week awards, dished up 51 assists.
Karina Mickelson’s 17 digs led the Oredigger attack. Maureen Jessop added 12 kills, and Kiya Loobey spiked eight. McKenna Kaelber dished up 34 assists, and Hannah Oggerino collected 27 digs.
The Orediggers and Argos will play again at 1 p.m. Saturday in Great Falls. Tech will play host to Montana Western next Friday and Saturday.
