Archibald named All-State, five other Bulldogs honored

Butte High has an All-State soccer player.

Bulldog senior Zach Archibald was named to the Class AA All-State team following the season. Butte High coaches released the All-State and All-Conference selections to the media today. (Boys selections,Girls selections)

Archibald was one of six Bulldog soccer players to earn post-season accolades.

Butte High’s Trevyn Roth was named to the Eastern AA All-Conference team, while Bulldogs Erik Rosa, Brock Powell and Travis Williams received an All-Conference honorable mention.

On the girl’s side, Butte High’s Camille McEwen was named All-Conference.

Archibald, a senior, scored six goals and registered six assists to lead the Bulldogs, who qualified for the Class AA State tournament for the first time since 2013.

Roth is a sophomore who was a key player on the Bulldogs back end. Rosa, Powell and Williams are seniors.

Rosa’s play at goalkeeper was key to Butte High’s strong season.Williams scored both of his goals this season in the postseason, including a goal at state. Powell knocked in three goals during the season. He also assisted a goal in Butte High’s playoff victory

McEwen is a senior four-year letter winner. The two-year Bulldog captain is now a two-time All-Conference player.
