BILLINGS — Tori Anderson scored 20 points to lead the way, and the Montana Western Bulldogs beat Georgetown College (Kentucky) 89-69 in the first round of the 39th annual NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball National Championships at the Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark. (Stats)
The senior guard shot 7 for 10 from the field, including 3 for 6 from the 3-point line, hitting the 20-point mark for the second time this season.
Anderson was one of four Bulldogs to score in double figures for Western, which led 47-35 at halftime. Western expanded the lead with a 23-14 third quarter.
Savanna Bignell scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds, Shannon Worster tossed in 13 points, and Brianna King netted 11 points. King also dished out six assists and pulled down five rebounds.
Western also got eight points from Mesa King, seven from Britt Cooper and Cierra Lamey, four from Paige Holmes, three from Brandy Bookout, and two from Darby Schey.
Madison Darnell scored 14 points to lead Georgetown.
