Anderson, Tierney named top Bulldogs at banquet

Butte High seniors Carl Anderson and Brittney Tierney took home the top awards at Butte High’s All-Sports Banquet Wednesday night at the Butte Civic Center.

Anderson took home the Harry “Swede” Dahlberg Outstanding Boy Athlete award. Tierney was named Outstanding Girl Athlete.

Anderson, an alternate to play in the Montana East-West Shrine Game, was a standout linebacker for the Butte High Football team. He led the Bulldogs with 98 tackles last season. Anderson also received the Head Hunter Football Award Wednesday night.

In February, Anderson, a four-year contributor for the Bulldog wrestling team, placed second at 160-pounds at the state tournament.

Tierney was a four-year standout for the Bulldogs in three sports, volleyball, basketball and softball. She helped lead the Bulldogs to the Class AA State basketball tournament in March.

The honor was one of six awards Tierney took home. Her haul includes sharing the Most Inspirational Student Athlete award with fellow senior Josh Neil.
