JACKSONVILLE — Safety Colt Anderson registered three tackles Saturday to help the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 31-24 in a preseason game at EverBank Field.
All of Anderson’s tackles came in the third quarter. He tackled Mike Brown after an 8-yard reception, stopped Jordan Todman after a 3-yard run up the middle and brought down Brett Brackett after a 7-yard reception.
The former Butte High and University of Montana star is trying to make the Eagles for the fourth season. Anderson, a former special teams MVP in Philadelphia, signed with the Eagles off the Minnesota Vikings practice squad during the 2010 season. He spent his first year and a half in the NFL with the Vikings.
Anderson also helped take Butte High to the 2004 Class AA state championship basketball game, and he was a standout for the Butte Miners American Legion baseball team.
The Eagles (2-1) close out the preseason Thursday against the New York Jets in Met Life Stadium in New Jersey. The team opens the regular season Sept. 9 at Washington. That game is on ESPN’s Monday Night Football.
