Anaconda star signs with Orediggers

Montana Tech head volleyball coach Brian Solomon announced the commitment of Anaconda’s Karli King. With the addition of King, the Orediggers’ 2013 recruiting class includes eight new student-athletes for fall.

One of last year’s Copperhead volleyball co-captains, King helped lead the team to a share of the Southwestern A Conference title. Anaconda finished 7-3 in conference action tying Corvallis. King, a libero, was an honorable mention on the All-Conference team. Averaging 3.8 digs per game last season, King ranked second on the team in that category.

The multi-sport athlete lettered eleven times in high school. In addition to volleyball, she played basketball and shined on the softball diamond. King was selected All-Conference the last three seasons in softball and made the All-State team as a utility player her sophomore year. She is the senior captain this spring for the Copperheads.

Outside of athletics, King is an active member of the student council and student body council serving as secretary of the student body all four years. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society.

King, the daughter of Mike and Roxi, is following her older siblings to Montana Tech. Her sister Kirstin capped her four-year Oredigger career during last year’s successful volleyball season. Her brother Matthew is currently attending Tech and will graduate next fall.
