Five different Great Falls players scored goals Wednesday night as the Americans topped the Butte Cobras 5-3 in an NA3HL Frontier Division game at the Butte Community Ice Center. (Stats)
The loss snapped Butte’s four-game winning streak.
Tae Evans scored 13 seconds before the end of the second period to put the Americans up for good at 4-3. Daniel Crutcher added a goal late in the third period.
Jackson Henningsgard, Garrett Weisenburger and Silas Hughes also scored goals for the Americans, who outshot Butte 53-45. Zach Hattan turned away 42 shots in goal to get the win.
Nick Bradshaw lit the lamp twice to lead the Cobras. David Hanny scored once. Luke Schleusner assisted on two goals. Ross Biggerstaff, Caelin Chinery, Drysten Bailey and Cade Wessman each assisted on one.
Butte netminder Caleb Cross racked up 48 saves.
The Cobras are back in action Friday and Saturday, taking on the Yellowstone Quake at the Ice Center. Butte swept the Quake last weekend in Cody, Wyoming.
Friday’s game starts 7:30 p.m. The puck drops at 7 on Saturday.
