The 2020 Southwest Montana High School Basketball Classic has been called off amid the spread of the coronavirus.
Butte Chamber of Commerce Director Stephanie Sorini confirmed the cancellation to ButteSports today. She said the decision was made late Friday night after four cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Montana.
The move comes as the Montana High School Association was forced to call off its four state tournaments after the semifinals on Friday night.
Rosters from the game were released on Monday, and they included 16 players from the Mining City. Six more were listed as alternates for the event, which is sponsored by the Butte Chamber of Commerce Hospitality Committee.
