All-Star game is tonight at Maroon Activities Center

The 2015 Southwest Montana High School All-Star Basketball Classic will be played tonight at the Maroon Activities Center.

The girls’ game will open action at 6. The boys will play at about 7:30. Games will include 3-point contests at half-time. Halftime entertainment will also feature performances by the Dynamic Dance & Tumbling Co. and the Butte High School Drum-Line. The Butte High School Band will be in attendance, along with the cheer squads from Butte High School and Butte Central High School.

The night will pit the Big Sky teams against the Treasure State teams. The boys’ Big Sky team includes Butte Central Maroons Marcus Ferriter, Danny Peoples, Chad Peterson and Dalton Sessions along with Butte High Bulldogs Brian Smith, Kilian O’Leary, Chanse Kremer and Dylan Cook. Bulldog Tucker Thatcher is an alternate for the game.

The Treasure State boys’ squad includes Dillon Beavers, Jason Ferris, Justin Ferris, J.D. Ferris, Parker Love and Trae Williams playing with Anaconda Copperheads Braxton Hill and Caleb Stetzner.

Brian Yelenich and Ryan Murphy will coach the Big Sky boys. Mel Rice and Curtis Fox will lead the Treasure State boys.

In the girls’ game, the Big Sky team includes Butte High players McKaul Ori and Maria Michelotti playing alongside Butte Central players Emily St. John, Mollie Peoples, Kloie Thatcher and Sierra Pica. Butte High’s Kassidy Caprara and Ellie Hoffenbacker are alternates.

The Treasure State girls’ team will include Anaconda’s Tyler Baustadt and Khali Knadler playing with Dillon’s Cierra Lamey, Audrey Schurg and Alex Rouse.

Ted Ackerman and Jordan Kambich-McIntyre will coach the Big Sky girls, while Ali Hurley and Lisa Laslovich will coach Treasure State.

The games will be broadcast on KBOW, 550 AM, 101.5 FM or online.
