OGDEN, Utah — Abby Dodge closed her University of Montana track  & field career with a big-time performance.

Dodge competed in four Championship meets for the Grizzlies before this week. Despite being a strong jumper for the Griz her entire career, she had yet to score team sports at that level.

She finished ninth in 2018 before an 11th-place performance in 2019. On Friday, Dodge set her personal record in her first attempt, scoring six team points for the Grizzlies.

Dodge graduated from the University of Montana earlier this month.

Another Butte native, freshman Cutter Thatcher, ran for the Grizzlies Friday. The Butte Central graduate placed ninth in the preliminaries of the 400-meter hurdles, just missing qualifying for the finals with a time of 53.76 seconds.
