69 turn out for handicap shoot

The Butte Trap Club held its annual Super Handicap shoot August 17-18  at the club grounds located in the Industrial Park.  Sixty-nine shooters turned out for the annual event with weather conditions being warm and sunny.  Over 27,000 targets were thrown during the two day event.

Sheridan shooter, Bill Camus claimed Saturday’s Doubles Championship trophy with a 97×100 tally. He also won the Class A Singles trophy with a perfect 100×100 mark.   Camus notched the HOA trophy for the total 600 targets by breaking 578×600.

Roger Andersen from Iona, ID won Saturday’s Singles with a perfect 100×100 score.  He was second in Saturday’s Handicap with a 96×100 and also won the “300” Handicap trophy by breaking 286×300 targets.

Bozeman shooter Tom Kuka won the Singles Championship on Sunday by outlasting Whitehall shooter Edie Baker in a shootoff.  Both shooters broke 100 straights.  Kuka also took the the 4th place Handicap trophy on Saturday.

Alex Schneider of Butte won Sunday’s Handicap Championship with a 194×200 total and Bob Fahland of Sheridan won Saturday’s Handicap with a near perfect 99×100 mark.

Butte Shooter Brandon Lyons won the Class D Singles trophy on both Saturday and Sunday.  Kohlten Fultz won the New Shooter trophy on Sunday.

Other area shooter’s earning trophies included Marvin Allinson – Saturday Class C Singles, John MacDonald – Class C Singles – Sun., Dana Miller – Vet Singles
