Forty Butte Central student-athletes received Academic All-State honors for the fall season, the school announced today.
The awards are given to athletes and cheerleaders who earn a varsity letter in a Montana High School Association sanctioned sport and obtain a 3.5 or better grade point average during the principal quarter of the sport. The GPA is based on a straight 4.0 system, with no extra credit given for honors courses.
Of the BC award winners, 14 earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Jack Gallagher earned a 4.0 in golf, while Conor McGee and Shannon Temple were 4.0 students for the BC cross country team. Desiree Dunbar earned 4.0 as a cheerleader.
Four Maroons received a 4.0 in volleyball. They are Mariah Cooney, Taylor Marthaller, Shannon McLaughlin and Annie Ossello.
Marcus Ferriter, Kale Guldseth, Zach Hart, Frank Joyce, Wyatt Kingston and Connor McGree earned a 4.0 while playing football for the Maroons.
