The Montana High School Association Executive Board meeting on September 12^th  approved moving the 2023 MHSA State AA-B Track and Field meet from Gallatin High School in Bozeman to Bulldog memorial Stadium in Butte. The dates will remain May 26-27.

The change was made because the Board and MHSA staff had concerns about the track and field facility at Gallatin High School being able to host a meet the size of the State Track Meet.

The Board contacted Butte High Athletic Director Chuck Merrifield during the meeting to see if Butte High would be willing to host back to back State Track Meets.  This past spring Charlie Merrifield track hosted the Class AA-A State meet.  Merrifield confirmed the financial support of Advantage Butte to cover the costs of the meet and hospitality for a second year and told the MHSA Board that Butte would host the meet.
