SPOKANE — The Mining City Magic Ferriter team took second place in the 16U division of the Spokane Summer Classic softball tournament over the weekend.
The Magic beat the Liberty Lake Lightning 5-1 in the semi-finals and lost to the Spokane Crash 5-8 in the Championship.
Jenna Walker hit two home runs on the weekend. Kaidy McClafferty and Brittney Tiereney each hit one.
Brianna Ossello and Shelby Martin both had seven hits on the weekend, followed by Emma Cox with five. Kennedi Ferriter drove in three runs in the championship game.
Martin and McClafferty combined for an ERA of 1.31 and held opponents to a .200 Batting Ave for the weekend.
Other team members are Jaden Cleveland, Carley Fink, Brynlee Nielsen, Emma Cox, Maddie Joseph and Katelyn Alley.
