12U Mile High All Stars fall just short of State Tournament birth

The Mile High 12U All Star went down and laid it all on the line this past weekend in Missoula.

Game 1-Mile-High beat Dillon in a tight game 4-2 on a big effort from Chase Nasheim on the bump, to go along with timely hitting in the top of the 6th inning for the go ahead run.

Game 2 was another close battle, but the Mile High All Stars were edged out 8-7 by MT. Sentinel in extra innings. Cruz Kissell, Zyler Peterson, and Drew ‘Captain America” Kachmarik worked hard on the mound behind tough defense.

Butte won game 3 in convincing fashion over Anaconda in 4 innings of play behind Kendrick McCarthy’s 4 innings on the mound and his two RBIs offensively.

Game 4 saw another dominant performance from Butte as they 10 ran Frenchtown 14-2 behind tough defense across the board and great bats by Brady Hanson went 3-3, Kason Liston, Finn Hassler, and Rody Johnson.

Butte made it to the loser out game in the consolation semifinal and rematch with Mt Sentinel. Butte started slow and were down 7-0 at one point but managed to make a ferocious comeback but ultimately fell one run short again.

They did not qualify for the State tournament in two weeks but that doesn’t take away from what these young men did this weekend and all season long. Their hard work, dedication, and heart cannot and will not go unnoticed, congratulations to these boys on a great season, way to never give up and keep moving forward!

Mt. Sentinel fell to Mt. Jumbo 9-9 in the Championship and Mt. Jumbo will represent District 2 and host State in Missoula.
