$10K ace highlights Coca Cola Classic

Laurel golfer Jake McKinney hit a $10,000 hole in one Sunday to highlight the Ron Godbout Coca Cola Classic golf tournament at the Butte Country Club.

McKinney used a 6-iron to ace the 205-yard par 3 hole No. 6. The award was the first in the long history of the tournament.

Mike Merideth, Ryan Rital and Kurt Thompson won the three-player tournament with a score of 120. The followed Saturday’s 58 with a 62 on Sunday.

Kelly Gilligan, Garret VanHeel and Bill Heisler were second at 122. Three teams tied for third place. Bob Price, Vern Kingston Jr. and Wyatt Kignston shot a 123. So did McKinney, Mike Oliver and Bill Krum, and the team of Brian Lytle, John Evankovich and Dan Filson.
