The Butte High Girls and Boys had a dual swim meet today with Belgrade.  This was to make up for neither team going to Missoula this past Saturday.  Butte High won both the boys and girls’ team.

We had some great swims.  It was good that we did this meet with Belgrade to give both teams a chance to improve times before the state entries that are due tomorrow.  Only the top 32 swimmers that are entered in each event get to swim at state, so it is important to be able to go in with the fastest times as possible.

We had some great times and time drops today.

For the Girls;

Junior Lily Jaksha, dropped time in both her 50 free and 100 fly. Placing her 3^rd in both events. 8^th grader, Nimalka DeAlwis dropped 10 seconds in the 200 IM to take 1^st, and took 4^th in the 100 fly by dropping 3 seconds.  Freshman, Tatum Trefts, dropped another second in her 100 breast to take 2^nd.  Even though not everyone had personal best times, we had some great top 3 finishes.  Freshman, Olivia Thurmond, took 2^nd in both the 50 free and 100 fly.  Senior, Alex Kovnesky, took 1^st in the 200 free, and 2^nd in the 500 free.  Senior, Cora Rauch, took 3^rd in the 500 free and the 100 breast.  Freshman, Chloe Salusso, took 3^rd in the 100 free.

For the Boys:

Freshman, Nathan Stone, had a best time in the 200 free by 1 second to take 2^nd.  He also had a 2 second drop in the 100 fly to take 1^st.  Sophomore, Ziah Garza, had a 4 second drop in the 200 IM to take 1^st.  He also had a best time in the 100 back by 2 seconds to capture 2^nd.  Sophomore, Titus Salusso, dropped 3 seconds in the 100 free, to take 3^rd.  There were other top 3 finishes too.   Freshman, Ben McAdams, took 2^nd in the 100 free and the 50 free.  8^th grader, Gage Plum, took 1^st in the 500 free, and 3^rd in the 100 back.  Sophomore, Blair Hamry, took 2^nd in both the 500 free and the 100 breast. Sophomore, Nathan Hiebert, took 3^rd in the 100 breast.

Our next meet is State in Great Falls, February 10^th and 11^th.
