Western men bow out

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The season came to an end for the Montana Western men’s basketball team Friday night.

Reed Dungan scored 19 points, and Carnilious Simmons added 17 points and 19 rebounds as Dalton State (Georgia) topped the Bulldogs 79-60 in the second round of the NAIA National Tournament. Stats

Sayvon Wilson scored 16 points for Dalton State (29-4), and Isaiah Box tossed in 11.

Senior Shyke Smalls scored 12 points to lead the Bulldogs, who close the season with a 25-8 record.

Chase Haack, Marcus Payne and Kooper Kidgell each scored 10 points. Dom Robinson, who scored 32 in Thursday’s first-round win, scored eight points.
