Tuesday’s Hot Ticket: Maroons vs. Panthers

Belgrade at Butte Central, 6 p.m.

The Maroons (12-5) open the doubleheader at the Maroon Activities Center looking for the season sweep of the Panthers (10-6). Behind a 29-point performance from Mollie Peoples, the Maroons won the first meeting 55-39 Dec. 20 in Belgrade.

Shania Neubauer averages 11.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game to lead the Panthers. Teammate Krista Brown adds 8.1 points and 5.2 rebounds to the lineup.

Peoples averages 19.2 points to lead the Maroons. Emily St. John adds 15.6, while Kloie Thatcher is averaging 10.4 points per game in her 10 games since returning from a knee injury.

BC will honor its seniors and parents on Senior Night. The Maroon seniors are Peoples, St. John, Caleigh Mullaney, Corbyn Holm and TzuChen Lin.

Belgrade at Butte Central, 7:30 p.m.

Winners of seven out of eight, the Maroons (10-7) face a stiff test when the welcome the Central A champion Panthers (12-3) to the MAC for Senior Nigh nightcap.

Belgrade took a 38-9 halftime lead and beat BC 57-41 Dec. 20 in Belgrade. Dawson Fowler scored 19 points in that win. He averages 17.5 points per game. Brock Salisbury averages 13.9.

Nate McGree’s 11.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game to lead the Maroons. Tanner Kump adds 9.2 points to the lineup. The Maroons will honor McGree, Kump and fellow seniors Sam Johnston and Archie Petritz and their parents.
