CHANDLER, Ariz. — Montana Western seniors Marcus Payne and Dom Robinson combined for 48 points Monday, and the No. 17 Bulldogs knocked off Thomsen Rivers University 94-84. (Stats)

Robinson hit five 3-pointers and scored 25 points. Payne added 23 points and 12 rebounds. Payne’s 23 matched a career high for the former Montana Tech Oredigger. He also scored 23 in Western’s Nov. 28 win over Tech.
All five Western starters reached double figures scoring in a game that saw the Bulldogs lead 49-35 at halftime.
Brandon Jones scored 14 points, while Kooper Kidgell scored 13, and Zaccheus Darko-Kelly tossed in 12. Troy Scott was the only other Bulldog to score. The Dillon native came off the bench to toss in eight points.
Derek Rhodes scored 25 points to lead four Thomsen Rivers players in double digits.
The 10-1 Bulldogs close the tournament Tuesday against the Master’s University (California).
