Robinson goes off for 32 as Western men advance

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Dom Robinson poured in 32 points Thursday night to lead Montana Western’s men’s basketball team to a 99-94 win over LSU Shreveport in the NAIA National Tournament. Stats

The victory sends the Bulldogs to the Sweet 16.

Robinson hit on 10 of 12 field goals, including 6 of 7 from 3-point land. He also pulled down seven rebounds.

Shyke Smalls added 23 points in the victory that also saw the Bulldogs get 11 points from Kidgell Kooper and eight from Cameron Evans and Chase Haack.

Benjamin Batts scored 21 points to lead Shreveport, which closed the season at 20-10.

The Bulldogs (25-7) will take on No. 1 seed Dalton State (Georgia) at 8:15 p.m. Friday. Carroll College will take on SAGU (Texas) at 9:45 a.m.

Lewis-Clark State bowed out of the tournament with a 71-59 loss to Columbia (Missouri) earlier Thursday.
