OPPORTUNITY — Three Butte golfers picked up division titles Monday at the Anaconda Challenge.
Jack Prigge, Kodie Hoagland and Emily Kelly took home gold medals as the South West Montana Junior Golf Tour stopped at the Anaconda Country Club. (Results)
Prigge and Hoagland ran away from the field in their respective divisions, while Kelly played alone in the Lydia Ko Division.
Prigge shot a 2-over-par 38 in the nine-hole Rickie Fowler Division, which is for players 12-13. Manhattan’s Cavan Visser and Helena’s Joseph McGreevey tied for second at 45.
Hoagland shot a 93 to win the Lexi Thompson Division for girls 14-15. Kennedy Lean took second at 110. Fellow Butte golfer MacKenzie Finnegan placed third at 113.
Kelly, the lone golfer in the division for girls’ 16-17, shot a 104.

Helena golfer Gabe Witham carded an 80 on the par-71 course to win the Dustin Johnson Division for boys 16-17. He was followed by three Butte players. Dawson Muffich took second at 86, Dan McCloskey took third at 88, and Kellen Lean carded a 92 for fourth.
Cullen Visser of Manhattan shot an 86 to win the Jordan Spieth Division for boys 14-15. He beat Clancy’s Preston Field by two shots.
Dakota Trinity Wilson of Townsend shot a 53 to win the nine-hole Stacy Lewis Division for girls 12-13. Helena’s Paige O’Mara placed second at 65.
Next up for the SWMJGT players is the Powell County Invitational, which is July 2 at the Deer Park Golf Club in Deer Lodge.
