The Southwestern Polar Plunge will be held in the Mining City this year.

The Plunge, which will be held in conjunction with the SnoFlinga Winter Festival, will take place Saturday, Jan. 20 at Foreman’s Park, which is the old Mountain Con Mine yard.

Previously, the Plunge was held at Silver Lake outside of Anaconda.

Plunges begin at 4 p.m., and the funds raised will directly support the athletes of the Special Olympics in Butte, Anaconda, Deer Lodge and Dillon.

As of Friday afternoon, the Plunge has raised $2,595 of the stated goal of $20,000.
