New KC league scheduled, Kids program continues

The Knights of Columbus Athletic Club’s winter four-man basketball league will begin the week of Nov. 27.

Teams will play one to two games each week for 10 weeks at the Felix Madrazo Gym, and the season will conclude with a tournament.

Cost is $175 per team, and teams can sign up at the KC bar or by contacting Dan Boyle at 565-7947.

Also, the KC Little Kids Hoops program continues each Saturday morning.

The first group runs from 9 to 10 a.m., and it is for players roughly in kindergarten through second grade. Players it that league play on hoops that are 8 feet high. The lower age limit is a rough guideline. Any child who wants to play is welcome.

Players in third and fourth grades will play from 10 to 11 a.m., while boys and girls in fifth and sixth grades will go from 11 a.m. to noon. The older two groups on the regulation 10-foot hoops, with age appropriate balls.

The program will run through January, taking weekends off for major holidays Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s weekend.

The program is completely free of charge and open to any boy or girl in the community. Volunteers are welcome, whether for the duration of the program or simply for one week.
