DILLON — The Butte Central softball team found its form Thursday afternoon.
Kloie Thatcher held Dillon to one hit, and the Maroons used nine hits to beat the Beavers 11-1 in a Southwestern A game. The contest was called by the 10-run rule after five innings.
Thatcher struck out six batters and walked three as the Maroons (2-3, 1-1) grabbed their first conference win of the season.
The junior also went 3 for 3 at the plate to lead BC’s offensive. Battery mate Megan Michelotti added a home run and a single in the win, while Emma Keeley tripled and Mollie Peoples and Brooke Raiha each hit a double.
Zoe Doherty singled for BC, which took command with three runs in the first inning.
BC added two in the second and five in the third to make it 10-0. After the Beavers pushed a run across in the fourth, the Maroons responded with one in the fifth to extend the lead to 10.
Pitcher Bailey Berriochoa singled for the lone Dillon hit of the day. The Beavers fell to 2-6 overall and 0-3 in conference.
The Maroons are back in action Saturday when they play host to Corvallis in a conference game at Stodden Park.
