Little Guy Football roundup

Following is the roundup for Week 6 of the Mining City Little Guy Football program.

McQueen Athletic Club Colts 26, Opportunity Bank Buccaneers 12
Burke McGruder ran for a pair of touchdowns, while Coy Campbell returned a punt for a score and Sam Sampson ran for a TD in the win. Jake Hennelly was a beast on both sides of the line, Brenner Booth was outstanding on the offensive and defensive lines, and Jay Tierney booted an extra point.

For the Bucs, Braydon Pierce ran for a touchdown and returned a fumble for a score. Keefer McGree hauled in a 44-yard reception from Will Stepan, and Noah Purcell, Patrick Stimatz, Bradyen Worth, Raymond Michelotti played great defense. The coach also liked the play of Michael Peck, Oliver Steele and Deven Moreno-Luke.

Buffalo Wild Wings Steelers 18, Thompson Distributing Vikings 6
Grady Winston ran for two touchdowns behind the great blocking of Corey Anderson, Kade Schleeman and Garrett Sharp to lead the Steelers to the win. Maverick McEwen scored on a long pass from Nolan Casey, and Casey, Joey Wall, Austyn Beckman and Nathan Billson led a strong defensive performance.

Tyson Zeren scored his first TD of the season for the Vikings. Riley Tutty made an outstanding circus catch in the game, while Nathan Collins played great defense and Riley Hudson really hustled to the ball on defense.

Pioneer Technical Packers 4, Casandra’s Seahawks 0
The Packers got a pair of safeties to win the defensive battle. MaKenna Bazo and Rye Doherty combined for one safety. Bridger Schutte and Thomas Jenson teamed up for the other. Andrew “Lil Man” From tackled everybody.

Dougie Peoples picked off a pair of passes for the Seahakws. Kyle Holter, Cayden Kibler and Joe Schrader played great on both sides of the ball. Kibler also recovered a fumble.

Thriftway Giants 14, Steele’s Warehouse Dolphins 0
Luke McMahon was a wall at center to lead the way for Gunner Reopelle’s two touchdowns in the victory. Cody Beckman was the key player on defense, and Quinton Denison was a force to be reckoned with on the line.

Kaden Medina, Jake Bailey and Tim Williams played great defense for the Dolphins. Tocher Lee, Brenden Snow and Jason Johns played great on offense.

The Cowboys coach said his team worked hard all season and won as “team players.”

Trey Driscoll and Kaden McGillen led the Patriots defensive line, generating constant pressure. Robert Tyson recovered a fumble and had a strong all-around game, and Kaden Malone played great defense.

Newland & Company Bengals 14, Glacier Bank Rams 12
Kadyn Fultz returned a kickoff for a touchdown to settle the game for the Bengals. Ethan Cunningham added a long TD run to go along with solid defense. Also, Taylor Parks played great defense, and Nick Bailey made some great tackles.

Tanner McDaniel picked off a pass tipped by Zach Tierney to highlight the Rams’ performance. Sam Ossello scored on a great run behind great blocking, and Reid Whitlock registered a quarterback sack.

Lisac’s Tire Raiders 40, Lil Copperheads Bears 0
David Blue ran tough, and receiver Brendan O’Boyle blocked well for the Raiders. Matthew Young, Andrew Dillon and Cameron Gurnsey were dominant on defense.

Highlights for the Bears were not submitted.

Sports Fanz Redskins 14, First Citizens Bank Falcons n/a
Dave Babb plunged in for the go-ahead touchdown for the Redskins Also, Logan Thomas was a beast on the line, Colin McKernan was on fire on defense, and Wyatt Gross and Jack Luoma ran hard.

Highlights for the Falcons were not submitted.
