Kloie Thatcher won’t begin her college basketball career until next fall.
The Butte Central senior, however, will get a chance to play for her future head coach during the Montana-Wyoming All-Star basketball series June 8-9.
Thatcher was named to the Montana team, which will be coached by Rocky Mountain College coach Wes Keller, last week.
During the 2017-18 regular, Thatcher averaged 14.7 points, 6.3 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 3.1 seals. She was the MVP of the Western A Divisional tournament, leading the Maroons to the divisional title at the Butte Civic Center.
Thatcher will be joined on the Montana roster by southwestern Montana stars Brynley Fitzgerald of Dillon, Kailee Oliverson of Twin Bridges and Shainy Mack of Three Forks.
The first games will be played June 8 at Sheridan College in Sheridan, Wyoming. The following night, the games will be played at Rocky Mountain College in Billings.
The girls will play at 5:30 p.m. each night. The boys will follow at 7:30.
Steve Keller, who recently left Montana Western to become the head coach of the University of Providence in Great Falls, will coach the boys’ team.
Steve Keller is 12-0 as coach of the Montana Boys, who lead the series 57-27. The Montana girls lead the series 29-13.
The Wyoming rosters will be unveiled at a later date.
