Jared Samuelson transfers to Rocky Mountain College

BILLINGS — Rocky Mountain College men’s basketball coach Bill Dreikosen has announced Monday the signing of former Billings West and University of Montana basketball standout, Jared Samuelson, to a Frontier Conference letter of intent.

Samuelson joins the Battlin’ Bears with three years of eligibility remaining.

Samuelson is a 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward, who played in all 32 games this past season as a redshirt freshman for the Grizzlies. He averaged five points and 2.3 rebounds per game and shot nearly 58-percent from the floor.

As a senior at West High, Samuelson led the Golden Bears in scoring and rebounding, averaging 16.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. He was named All-State, first team all-conference and was selected to play in the Montana-Wyoming All-Star series after leading West to a 19-4 record and a second place finish at the state AA tournament.

“We are very excited to have Jared joining our program,” Dreikosen said. “He is a very versatile player and he will bring an immediate and positive impact to our program.”
