WHITEFISH — The year 2018 started the same way 2017 ended, with Ryan Imhoff taking home Frontier Conference Player of the Week honors.
The Carroll College start received the men’s honor Monday, league announced. Shiloh McCormick of MSU-Northern as named the women’s Player of the Week.
Imhoff takes home the honor for the second straight week and for the fourth time this season.
Imhoff is a 6-foot-6 senior guard from Napa, California. No. 4 Carroll closed its non-conference schedule with two home victories over the University of Calgary, the second ranked team in U-Sports, Canada’s highest division. The Saints won 91-82 and 79-78.
In the wins, Imhoff averaged 25 points, 6.5 rebounds, four assists, 2.5 blocks and 2.5 steals. He was 17 of 36 from the field, 1 of 3, 3-point field goals and 15 for 17 (88 percent) from the free throw line.
Jake Miles of Montana Tech, Zaccheus Darko-Kelly of Montana Western, Ryan Reeves of MSU-Northern and Jared Samuelson of Rocky Mountain College were also nominated.
McCormick is a 5-9 sophomore guard from Lodge Grass. The No. 22-ranked Skylights upset No. 17 Lady of the Lakes (Texas) 73-64. In the win, she scored 18 points, pulled down 10 rebounds, recorded six assists, one block and one steal. McCormick was 8 of 15 from field (653 percent) and 2 of 2 from the free throw line.
McCormick won the award for the second time this season.
Kourtney Coverdell of Montana Tech, Cierra Lamey of Montana Western, Michaela Dowdy of Carroll College, Mikayla Jones of Rocky Mountain College and Tristan Murphy of the University of Providence were also nominated.
