The Hillcrest Hornets continued their dominance on the Charlie Merrifield Track Wednesday afternoon.
The Hornets once again claimed the team title in the Grade School Track Meet, which was put on by the Butte Athletic Council. (Team scores; Individual results; Pentathlete scores)
Hillcrest scored 454 team points to easily win the title. Second-place Whittier finished with 315.5 points.
Margaret Leary placed third at 177, followed by West at 155, Butte Central at 147.5, Emerson at 109, Kennedy at 41, and Ramsay at 27.
For the fourth straight year, no meet records fell as the young athletes had to endure multiple rain storms.
Hillcrest’s Jack Keeley won the boys’ pentathlon. Butte Central’s Ella Moodry won on the girls’ side. Keeley and Moodry both scored 44 points out of a possible 50.
Note: the Standing long jump is listed as “other” in the results.
