Hoops for a Cause, a one-day basketball camp featuring Natalee Faupel, Hattie Thatcher, Chris Mouat and players and coaches from around the Frontier Conference, will be held Thursday, Aug. 10 at the Maroon Activities Center.
All proceeds from the camp will go to the Alex Thatcher Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Faupel is a former Butte High star and MSU-Northern All-American. She was the Frontier Conference MVP during her junior season in 2015-16.
Thatcher, a former teammate of Faupel at Butte High, recently completed her career at Montana Tech, where she became the school’s all-time leader in assists.
Mouat is a former Butte High head girls’ basketball coach and Montana Tech women’s assistant who has been head coach of the Skylights for 12 years.
Every school in the Frontier Conference will be represented at the camp, and each team is donating a package for a silent auction that will also benefit the Thatcher Scholarship. Players from Butte High and Butte Central will also assist in the camp.
The camp is open to boys and girls entering kindergarten through eighth grade. Boys and girls kindergarten through fourth grade will go from 8 to 10 a.m. Boys in fifth through eighth grades will go from 10 a.m. to noon, while girls in fifth through eighth grade will go from noon to 2 p.m.
Cost is $20 if registered ahead of time or $25 at the door.
Pizza will be served to all campers following each session. Prizes will also be awarded, and each camper will receive a camp T-shirt.
