The Magic Fastpitch softball teams will honor Alex Thatcher and the Thatcher family at the Hit the Pit Softball Tournament in Butte this Friday through Sunday.

On Saturday at 8:30 p.m., a special ceremony will take place at Stodden Park on field No. 3 at third base, where Alex excelled on the softball diamond. Alex left us all too early following an accident on May 21.

Alex was a Magic Fastpitch player and coach and an exceptional student-athlete at Butte High School, playing basketball, volleyball, and softball and also playing volleyball for a year at Montana Tech. Alex graduated from Montana Tech with a petroleum engineering degree.

The Hit the Pit tournament will see 28 teams including six Magic Fastpitch teams in divisions U10, U12, and U14 playing on fields at Stodden Park and Longfellow.

All are invited to attend the ceremony honoring Alex at Stodden Park on Saturday evening.
