Foley, Wood-Jensen, Whelan, Real win Frigid Digger

Butte’s Don Foley, Amber Wood-Jensen, Bob Whelan and Ida Real ran to titles at the Wulfman’s Frigid Digger race Saturday by Montana Tech.

Foley and Wood-Jensen won the 7.3-mile race, while Whelan and Real claimed titles in the 3-mile race.

In the long race, Foley won with a time of 53 minutes, 45 seconds. Fellow Butte runner Ozzie Rosenleaf placed second at 55:01, while Brennan Hopkins of Butte took third in 56:08.

Wood-Jensen was the top female runner, crossing in 59:29. Michele Bazzanell of Butte took second at 1:08:16, while Butte’s Christine Eggensperger took third in 1:11:12.

Whelan finished the 3-mile race in 27:09. Kevin Maloughney of Butte was second in 22:22.

In the women’s category, Real won with a mark of 29:20. Mederios Babb of Butte was second in 34:41.
