Fitzgerald, Beavers deny Butte High girls

DILLON — Future Montana State Bobcat Brynley Fitzgerald scored 20 points to lead the Dillon girls’ basketball team to a 40-28 win over Butte High Thursday night at the B.W. Lodge Gym.

Fitzgerald scored 10 points in each half as the Beavers improved to 9-8 with the non-conference victory.

Paige Rouse poured in 11 points in the win.

Haley Herron scored 12 points to lead the Bulldogs. Ally Cleverly hit three 3-pointers and tossed in nine points.

The Bulldogs (6-8) also got three points from Aspen Lovshin and two apiece from Makenna Carpenter and Brittney Tierney.

The game was the only action of the week for Butte High. Next Friday and Saturday, the Bulldogs will be in Billings to take on West and Senior in Eastern AA games.
