Dean, Saints bring down Oredigger women

HELENA — Carroll College made it 3 for 3 against the Orediggers.

Hannah Dean poured in 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds Wednesday night, and the No. 13 Saints topped Montana Tech 66-50 in a Frontier Conference women’s basketball game at the P.E. Center. (Stats)

The win complete the three-game regular-sweep of the Orediggers by the Saints (10-3, 18-6). Carroll won the other two games in Butte, Jan. 11 and Jan. 25.

Dean was one of four Carroll players to reach double figures scoring in the win.

Bailey Pasta scored 16 points, while Brittney Johnson scored 11, and Christine Denny scored 10.

Kaylynn Coverdell scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Orediggers (3-10, 13-12). Kourtney Coverdell added 10 points, and Shay Potter tossed in nine points and grabbed seven rebounds.

The Orediggers also got seven points from Mollie Peoples, five from Monica Landdeck and three apiece from Sammy McGree and Kaylee Zard.

The Orediggers are back in action Saturday when they travel to Billings to take on Rocky Mountain College.
