DILLON — Butte High’s Dawson Muffich and Hunter Salcido tied for the top spot at the Dillon JV Invitational golf tournament Monday at the Beaverhead Country Club.
The Bulldog junior varsity players each shot 86, and they were two of just three golfers to break 90 on the day.
Bozeman’s Jacob Brandon took third at 88, while Butte Central’s Cole Johnson shot a 91 for fourth place.
Ty Insko added a 92 for Butte High, which got a 95 from Kellen Lean and a 100 from Brady Anderson.
Ryan Wahl shot 99 for Butte Central. Also for the Maroons, Coyt Stajcar hit 103, Ryan Walsh shot 115, Phil Dwyer hit 116, and Theron Nelson carded 118.
Bozeman’s Cooper Knarr posted the best girls’ score with a 100.
Butte High sent five golfers to the tournament. Nacole Sestrich shot 114, while Mackenzie Finnegan hit 116, Kendall Petritz shot 117, Megan Savage hit a 120, and Hannah Merrick shot 132.
