Bulldog volleyball season ends with loss to West

BILLINGS — Butte High’s volleyball season came to an end one match short of the state tournament.

Billings West swept past Butte High 25-20, 25-10, 25-13 Friday night in an Eastern AA playoff match at the Golden Dome.

Catherine Follett tallied 11 kills to lead the Bears, who out killed Butte High 38-24.

Kira Mortensen spiked 10 kills and registered four blocks to lead the Bulldogs. Keeley Pochervina led Butte High with 15 digs, while Bethanney Foley dished out nine assists.

Butte High, which beat Great falls Russell in a playoff match Tuesday in Butte, closes the season at 4-18. Billings West (19-10) advances to the Class AA State tournament, which is next week in Bozeman.
