BILLINGS — A slow second half sank the Orediggers Saturday night.
Rocky Mountain’s men’s basketball team outscored Montana Tech 37-19 in the second half, and the Bearsk handed the Orediggers a 65-55 Frontier Conference loss at the Fortin Center. (Stats)
The Orediggers led 36-28 at halftime.
University of Montana transfer Jared Samuelson scored 15 points to pace the Bears, who improved to 3-3 in conference and 11-6 overall.
Latrelle Franklin scored 12 points, and Craig Wilmore scored seven points to go along with 13 rebounds.
The Bears won the battle of the boards 42-26.
Jake Miles’ 13 points Orediggers, who fell to 0-5 and 8-8. Chris O’Neill scored 12 points.
Tech also got seven points apiece from Dylan Pannabecker and Iman Chatman, six from Trent Molesworth and fife from John Chapman and Carson Dummer.
The Orediggers will play two and a half games on the road next week.
Tech will head to Great Falls on Thursday to finish last week’s game against The University of Providence that was suspended at halftime because the backboard bracket broke off the wall at the McLaughlin Center.
Tech will enter the second half trailing 33-31.
The following night, the Orediggers will play the Argos in a full game in Great Falls. On Saturday, Tech plays MSU-Northern in Havre.
